Hand-made A4 cyanotype of an illustrated monstera adansonii plant next to a monstera adansonii leaf.
My cyanotypes are created by coating paper with a light-sensitive solution, placing a stencil, plant, or a hand-drawn negative onto the paper, and exposing the paper to sunlight. The image is then developed in water and hung up to dry. The resulting print is a beautiful prussian blue colour. Cyanotypes are also known as sun prints or blue prints. Every cyanotype is one of a kind and results are unique with each exposure depending on the weather, exposure time, and the coating of the light-sensitive solution. This means there’s a slight variation in the depth of blue between each artwork.
Please note that the cyanotypes in the photos are not the exact cyanotypes you will receive, but you will receive a cyanotype of the same design. Online image colours may vary slightly due to differences in device screens. I photographed the cyanotypes in natural sunlight outdoors and indoors to help portray the blues in various lighting.
