FAQ

Where can I buy your paintings?
Available paintings can be found on The Egg & Dart's website. Please direct any painting enquiries to The Egg & Dart.

How are your giclée prints made?
The giclée prints are made to order in my home studio in Sydney, Australia. I print with pigment inks on 308gsm Hahnemühle paper - a matte cotton rag fine art paper, which is slightly textured (like smooth watercolour paper) and acid-free.

How are your cyanotypes made?
My cyanotypes are created by coating paper with a light-sensitive solution, placing a stencil, plant, or a hand-drawn negative onto the paper, and exposing the paper to sunlight. The image is then developed in water and hung up to dry. The resulting print is a beautiful prussian blue colour. Cyanotypes are also known as sun prints or blue prints. Every cyanotype is one of a kind and results are unique with each exposure depending on the weather, exposure time, and the coating of the light-sensitive solution. This means there’s a slight variation in the depth of blue between each artwork. Cyanotype care: Please hang your cyanotype away from direct sunlight as this will cause the blue to fade over time.

How are the prints shipped?
Prints are packed flat in a protective cellophane sleeve, with 300gsm cardboard backing, inside a cardboard rigid mailer. All orders will be posted with tracking through Australia Post. Please note for international orders, any customs costs/import taxes will be the responsibility of the buyer.

When will my order arrive?
7-10 days for Australian orders, and anywhere between 7-14 days for international orders. Please note these are just estimates and arrival times may vary.

What’s up with the print borders?
All prints are printed with borders to protect the print and to allow for easier framing. The borders on the longest sides of the print are always 1.5cm, and are wider on the shorter sides - this is because of the ratio of the original artwork is different to the ratio of the paper. I decided not to crop the borders so you can put the print in a conventional A4 or A3 frame but I will not be offended if you or your framer cuts the borders :)

What do I do if there’s a problem with my order?
Please fill out my contact form and I will reply as soon as possible. To avoid any issues, please double-check that all your order information (eg your address) is correct before placing your order.

Do you offer returns or refunds?
As a small business, I can’t afford to offer returns or refunds at this stage. Thanks for understanding!
